The Independent Asylum Commission has spoken of the shameful treatment of Asylum Seekers in the UK. It is a disgrace for us. A commissioner member said "We are concerned at the level of the treatment of children, the treatment of women, the treatment of those with health needs, particularly mental health needs, torture survivors." One Asylum Seeker has spoken up about it saying, "If claiming asylum is not a crime, why do we have these invisible bars around us all the time?"
